Following a weakly rated first season of Fox’s much publicized singing live competition “The X Factor”, TMZ reports that the show’s creator and executive producerm Simon Cowell, has made a deal with pop sensation Britney Spears for a whopping $15 million to judge the next season of the show.
The show, which lost judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger and host Steve Jones to the revamping of the show, awards a record $5 million recording contact to the winner of the competition. They only received up to $2 million for their contracts. The deal must go through a conservatorship run by Jamie Spears, her father, and the legal system.
Spears, fresh off her successful Femme Fatale tour, was one of the many names brought up in the search for new judges that included Rihanna and the late Whitney Houston. The search still remains for a new host, as well as another female judge to sit with Cowell and music mogul L.A. Reid.
