In a surprising move, Paramount has shifted the release of their action sequel, GI Joe: Retaliation, nine months, from this June 29th to March 29th, 2013. The news was announced by Hasbro’s President and CEO, Brian Goldner. Hasbro, the toy company behind the GI Joe action figures, and Paramount are now working to converting the film into 3D, creating “an even more immersive entertainment experience”.
In Jon M. Chu’s GI Joe: Retaliation, the Joes are put to the test when their adversaries, the Cobras, assume power over the United States. The film stars D.J. Cotrona, Byung-hun Lee, Adrianne Palicki, Ray Park, Jonathan Pryce, Ray Stevenson, with Channing Tatum, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and Bruce Willis.
Not to be outdone, Seth MacFarlane’s raunchy, live-action/CGI animated comedy Ted is being moved up two weeks, from July 13th to June 29th. From the creator of Family Guy, American Dad!, and The Cleveland Show, MacFarlane’s directorial debut follows a grown man who must deal with the cherished teddy bear he had wished to life as a child – and has never left. The film stars Mark Walhberg, Mila Kunis, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel McHale, Patrick Warburton, and Laura Vandervoort.
